YEAR OUT Team 2008-2009

Aged 18 - 24 years (preferably)?
Enjoy working with children and young people?
Are you willing to serve?

If you answer, “YES” to these three questions then Arcade can offer you a distinctive year out opportunity.

You will be:
Delivering drugs education in schools & youth clubs
Placed in a local church to support its ministries.

The voluntary posts start in September 2008 for a period of 10 months until July 2009. We intend appointing up to six young people as year out volunteers.

The position offers:
The chance to work with young people on various projects
A 3-week training course at the start of your year covering such diverse topics as team building, faith building, drugs knowledge and schools work. This will develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to begin your role.
Drug and alcohol distance learning course run by Hope UK (a national drug education charity). This is an accredited course that will enable you to build confidence in your varied roles over the year.
Regular on-going training, team building and supervision.
Most importantly, you will become a valued serving member of our Christian team. We hope to encourage you in your Committed 2 U year and pray that you will encourage us.
